WEDDINGS
I think it is most important to feel comfortable with the person who is going to perform your wedding service for you so encourage couples to meet a few celebrants before making up their minds as to who they will use.

I am a Civil Celebrant and my services are ‘non-religious’. I will write your service for you after talking things over and getting a feel of what you would like. I also encourage your own input as well if that is what you’d like. A little light humour, if you feel inclined, in the opening of the service often helps to relax people as well, I have found. Whatever I write for you is open to change and input from the couple and once decided upon will be your ceremony, there is no adlibbing or surprise wording on the day.

I am a very outgoing person and get on well with most people and am happy to marry you anywhere you choose, short of jumping out of a plane or diving under water! I wear a suit for the occasion, so won’t clash with the bride or mother of the bride. I am there to do a service for you not to compete with the bridal party.

Planning
When you come and meet me I will get from you all the details I need from you and with this I will write your service. When you have decided to use me as your celebrant I will write three ceremonies for you to choose from, or mix and match to get what you want. Picking your favourite songs/music/readings or poetry is a great help to work in with your ceremony.

You come to my house for the first meeting and after that we can do everything by phone or emails but if you want to see me in between times I am more than happy to meet you halfway somewhere and we can sit and have a coffee or something to go over things. My time is fairly flexible for fitting in with your requirements.

Sound
I have a wireless microphone and speaker if needed which also plays CD’s.

Fee

My fee for Auckland weddings is $400.00. This is for my total service - meetings, emails, phone calls, writing your ceremony/vows, rehearsal (if you want), use of my sound equipment for the service and the wedding ceremony itself. I consider Auckland to be from Albany in the north to Drury in the south, Maraetai in the east and Kumeu in the west. Outside of this perimeter I would charge a travel fee.
