Funerals
This is the most awful time for anyone, unless you are pre prepared of course, a funeral is not what you’d choose to think about. When someone you love dies the grief is insurmountable and you feel you can’t think properly. Thankfully this is where a good Funeral Director is of help. Most Funeral homes can offer you a celebrant but if you decide you want to use me to do the service you merely have to tell your Funeral Director that you have your own celebrant and give them my name and they and I will have contact with each other, you don’t have to worry about making the contact between me and them.

Death is a sad thing and you can’t take anything away from that fact. I do however look at a funeral service as a celebration of someone’s life. For the most part and of course this does not include young children, people have led a full and for the most part happy life. I like to build on this, remembering them as they were, the good times, the funny and happy times, involving friends and family to talk about the people as they remember them.

Planning
Some people are not comfortable about talking about death, others are OK with it and it is not something we like to dwell on but if you have someone you know who’s death is imminent or an elderly parent or relative who wants to discuss their funeral details, as hard as it may sound, it does help you when the time comes. It is nice to be able to give someone a funeral that they have asked for, especially in regard to special words/readings or music to be played. A little pre planning can often take a great load of stress out of the arrangements, when you have pre-arranged the way you/they would like things done.

Fee
My fee for a funeral would be $400 within the Auckland area. I will come to you as soon as you require me to and we can sit and talk about the person and the way you would like the service to be. I will fax/email or bring to you the service when it has been written and we can go through it and make sure it is what you want or change things where need be. It is important to get peoples names and special dates and important details in their lives right. As I usually only have a couple of days to write a service it imperative that we do this as quickly as possible.
